The Leader of the Ahoada West legislative Assembly in Rivers State, Ekele Chikobi, have been shot dead by some unknown gunmen in Rivers state.
Ekele was attacked and shot dead along the Ahole-Emohua road while he was travelling in the convoy of the lawmaker representing Ahoada West Constituency in the Rivers House of Assembly, Augustine Wanaka Okpokori.
Ekele was travelling alongside others who were also being transported in the convoy when the unknown gunmen opened fire on them, killing him and leaving several others injured with bullet wonds.
Meanwhile, the state government has called on the Inspector General of Police, the DSS department to bring to justice the perpetrators of the crime.
